Gather round my blasny boys a pirate’s tale I tell
About a man named Jimjemal who didn’t fare so well.
Now the war between France and England had just begun to subside.
He’d gone down with a ship or two but he managed to survive.
Till he raised a gang of outlaws, a mighty fearsome band,
To plunder and to pillage every village in the land.
They raised the Jolly Roger, and made their solemn pledge
To sail towards that horizon 'til they’d fallen off the edge.
Battle’s in your mind. You lose that, you lose everything there is.
Battle’s in your head. You lose that, and there’s nothing left. Oh no.
They raided every village from Cape Town to Paris,
And nobody could capture them- they sailed at such a speed.
One day they spied a clipper ship sailing just nearby.
Twas captained by Katrina, and beauty was her guise.
She made her crew surrender, and to their graves they sank.
But she was so good looking that she did not walk the plank.
She stayed on board as hostage, and didn’t make a stir
Until she knew that Jimjemal was deep in love with her.
Twas then she called the captain, “Please take your final breath.
This ship ain't big enough for two. We’re fighting to the death.”
Battle’s in your mind. You lose that, you lose everything there is.
Battle’s in your head. You lose that, and there’s nothing left. Oh no.
Before he drew his iron, he knew that he’d been beat.
How could the girl he grown to love turn out to be a cheat?
She laughed at his confusion, and said, “You should have known,
That beauty’s an illusion when your wicked to the bone.”
She brought him to the corner. He never drew his sword.
She pierced him through the heart before she threw him overboard.
So sailors lend an ear now. Hear the words I say.
Love will dull your senses and all your treasures take.
So when you look for love child think off the ocean deep.
There’s beauty on the surface but there’s trouble underneath.
Battle’s in your mind. You lose that, you lose everything there is.
Battle’s in your head. You lose that, and there’s nothing left. Oh no.
